This picture is featured in Issue 124 of 'STITCH' magazine, which is on sale from 26th March (in the UK).
The picture is made using needle felting techniques. All the fibres are ready blended.
The picture is 31cm by 27cm approximately.
You start with a piece of acrylic felt, which you lay your fibres on and then lay this onto a sponge or felting brush. The felting brush is much easier to work on.
Then stab away with your needle felting tool.
A beginner could do it!
When all the fibres have been worked in you could do some free machine embroidery on it to highlight areas (this has been done on the illustration), or hand embroidery or even some beadwork, it all adds detail. But if you don't want to add anything it looks lovely just as it is.
